"Book Haul Tuesday” is my weekly post where I take a peek at the newly released fiction books of the week and post the books which I’ve added to my forever growing “To Be Read” list.  I hope to introduce you to some interesting books and talented authors that you haven't read yet.  Hopefully I'll motivate you to run out and pick up a new release or two for your shelf or reader!

In addition to my book recommendation(s), of course, I'll show off any books I've hauled in the last week.  My book haul is all about sharing the books I've added to my lovely shelves, which can be physical or virtual.
What's in my book haul?
  • Books I've  purchase either in a store or online.
  • ebooks I've purchase online.
  • Books, ebooks and audiobooks I've borrow from my local library (hard copies and downloadable content)
  • ARCs and review books (hard copies, ebooks and galleys).
  • Books, ebooks and audiobooks that I've acquired through giveaways and as gifts.

I'm still on my "no buy" and my library visits have consisted of a visit to my library's Overdrive online catalog site! I've borrowed several audiobooks and ebooks (which you'll be seeing reviews for soon). I'm very happy that this week I received 2 books from Viking/Penguin in my mailbox!

Did you haul any books this week? If so, please share!

Happy Reading,
~Tamara

I actually forgot to take a photo of my books, so I had to use the cover art this time!
  • The Lemon Orchard, by Luanne Rice - I'll be doing a excerpt and giveaway this book in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for it!  This book looks really good! This book is to be released on July 3rd.
  • My Education, by Susan Choi - I'll be reviewing this next month! So be sure to check back for that. This book is to be released on July 3rd.

New Releases

Picture
  • The Heist (O'Hare and Fox #1), by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg (Mystery) - A brand new series by two best selling mystery authors!  I've enjoyed other series by Janet Evanovich that were co-written with another author. I seem to like her better when she has a writing partner.  This should be interesting, definitely worth a giving it a try!
  • Vampires, Scones, and Edmund Herondale (The Bane Chronicles Part #3), by Cassandra Clare (YA Fantasy) - Magnus Bane  - I really need to get started on these! I'm so behind!

I had a HUGE haul this past week. All books that I've purchased.  On this past Sunday, I went to a used book sale charity event that supports literacy, called Bookstock.  I found some good books,of which I plan on giving one or two of them away to people I know. The rest are mines! 11 books in great condition for $30! Not bad at all!  I searched for about an hour and a half, but the husband was getting antsy, so I had to wrap it up. The event is held in a small mall in Livonia, MI.  ALL the halls were filled with tables upon tables of book, organized by subject.  There were soooooo many books, I could have looked for hours and hours on end. It was crazy with so many people.  They do this every year, so I'll be back next year!  It's still going on now until the 28th, so if you live in the area, you may want to check it out.

I didn't notice any new releases this week. I'm sure there are some worth mentioning, but I've been a bit distracted so I hadn't really searched for any that I'd want. Now on to the haul!

What did you haul this week?

Happy Reading,
~Tamara

Book haul!

  • The Shack, by Wm. Paul Young - I listened to this on audio. I really liked it. So of course, I had to have it on my shelf so I can read it next time.
  • The Time Travelers Wife, by Audrey Niffenegger - I loved this movie and have heard great things about the book, so I'll be reading this.
  • The Kite Runner, by  Khaled Hosseini - I read this and enjoyed it a lot. It was a library borrow when I read it, but I think this would be a nice addition to my shelf.
  • A Thousand Splendid Suns, by Khaled Hosseini  - I haven't read it, but I'd heard good things. Since I liked the Kite Runner, I thought to give this a try.
  • One Fifth Avenue, by Candace Bushnell - I don't read much Chick Lit, but I did adore Sex in the City and Lipstick Jungle. So I'll give one a go.
  • A Walk to Remember, by Nicholas Sparks - Loved this movie. We all know the books are always better, so I had to get this.
  • The Notebook, by Nicholas Sparks - This is my all time favorite romance movie. So again, I know the book will be amazing!
  • The Vampire Armand, by Anne Rice - I haven't read Anne Rice in a while and the cover art intrigued me. I didn't know at the time this was book 6 in a series...so  I'll probably give it away. For some reason I thought it was stand alone. Oh well.
  • Dark Lover, by J.R. Ward - I love the BDB series. I picked this up to give to a friend who I want to get addicted to the series also! Lol.
  • Bitter, by Kelly Armstrong -  Book 1 of the Women of the Otherworld series, This has been on my TBR list for a long time.
  • Stolen, by Kelly Armstrong - Book 2 in the Women of the Otherworld series. It made sense to grab it also!
