With Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner, so many of us are traveling between now and the end of the year. Whether you're traveling a short or long distance, audiobooks make the ideal travel companion. Sitting around for during a layover? On a flight? Driving to to see family or friends in another state or up the road? On a train or bus? Want to block out the noise of your fellow travelers? Keep yourself entertained and press play on an audiobook!

I am an avid audiobook advocate. I enjoy a good book regardless if it's consumed by my eyes or ears. Patook App Review: Book Nerd ISO of Book Nerd Friends

8/6/2017

Meet new platonic friends, in person and online using on Patook! I know that many of us book nerds are also introverts but that doesn’t mean that you don’t want to have lots of friends. We may not be the light of the party, or at the part at all because we’d rather be home reading, but when I saw this app I decided to give it a try. One can never have too many bookish friends!  I’ve been using the app for about a week now and I really like it. I've already met a really cool book nerd that's coming to my next local book club meeting.

As the community grows and the app is updated with even more features it’ll be even more fun.  When you think about it, it’s almost like a ‘Tinder for friends’  -- it works in a similar manner minus the flirting and hookup requests. I’ve never been on Tinder, but I’ve heard plenty about the swipe right vs swipe left. The app version functions in a similar way when matches are made, but instead of looking for a hook up or a date, this is literally looking for friends. Seriously.  “NO flirting allowed” is their mantra. Let me tell you more.

If you see me, be sure to say hello! Stay tuned because I 'll be doing a video book haul on my YouTube channel following Bookstock 2017.

Feeling Romantic, but have no plans on this Valentine's Day? No worries, stay in with a great read! It is a weeknight after all. I came up with seven reads (both old and new) from various sub genres that are sure to have you feeling the love. The list is in no particular order, as they are all great options..

Read any of these? Let me know which ones are your favorites!  What romance titles have you been enjoying in honor of Valentine's Day?

Contemporary Romance, Young Adult

Eleanor... Red hair, wrong clothes. Standing behind him until he turns his head. Lying beside him until he wakes up. Making everyone else seem drabber and flatter and never good enough...Eleanor.

Park... He knows she'll love a song before he plays it for her. He laughs at her jokes before she ever gets to the punch line. There's a place on his chest, just below his throat, that makes her want to keep promises...Park.

Set over the course of one school year, this is the story of two star-crossed sixteen-year-olds—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try.
