Synopsis: Kacey Cleary’s whole life imploded four years ago in a drunk-driving accident. Now she’s working hard to bury the pieces left behind—all but one. Her little sister, Livie. Kacey can swallow the constant disapproval from her born-again aunt Darla over her self-destructive lifestyle; she can stop herself from going kick-boxer crazy on Uncle Raymond when he loses the girls’ college funds at a blackjack table. She just needs to keep it together until Livie is no longer a minor, and then they can get the hell out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
But when Uncle Raymond slides into bed next to Livie one night, Kacey decides it’s time to run. Armed with two bus tickets and dreams of living near the coast, Kacey and Livie start their new lives in a Miami apartment complex, complete with a grumpy landlord, a pervert upstairs, and a neighbor with a stage name perfectly matched to her chosen “profession.” But Kacey’s not worried. She can handle all of them. What she can’t handle is Trent Emerson in apartment 1D.

Kacey doesn’t want to feel. She doesn’t. It’s safer that way. For everyone. But sexy Trent finds a way into her numb heart, reigniting her ability to love again. She starts to believe that maybe she can leave the past where it belongs and start over. Maybe she’s not beyond repair.

But Kacey isn’t the only one who’s broken. Seemingly perfect Trent has an unforgiveable past of his own; one that, when discovered, will shatter Kacey’s newly constructed life and send her back into suffocating darkness.

I've had this hanging around on my NetGalley shelf for an embarrassing long time. I can not believe it's taken me so long to read it.  I'm sort of upset about it because this book was wonderful! I read this book in three sittings, but it really could have been one.  At first I was trying to pace myself, but of course that idea was soon forgotten because it was so good I wanted to devour the story instead.

There's a shocker at about the 80% mark is not what you could ever guess!  Well....maybe you could guess. You know when someone seems to perfect and you're sort of waiting for the other shoe to drop? Well....the shoe more than dropped. It's crazy...seriously!

Synopsis: Finally, the highly anticipated follow-up to the New York Times bestseller Beautiful Disaster. Can you love someone too much?
Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder.

In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. But just when he thinks he is invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees.

Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes.

You know how the saying goes, there's two sides to every story? I think that's true, but It was hard for me to detect the differences. Thank God for the prologue  the last two chapters and the epilogue. Without that it felt like I was re-reading exactly the same book,  almost verbatim as beautiful disaster. To me reading the book from Travis's point of view was not very much different than reading it from Abby's point of view. The stories were so similar the quotes were identical. I actually got to the point where I would skim over a page or two just because I already knew what was going on.  The major difference, which was pretty consistent, is that the inner-monologue going on with Travis and his conversations between Shep and himself are a bit more raunchy. That's probably lending to the fact that they're college guys, hell, maybe just because they're guys period.

Synopsis:Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby wants—and needs—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

I knew from the description this relationship would be a train wreck. You know that it's horrifying  but you just can't look away. This is Abby and Travis all day.  My first impression of this book is "Wow, these are two screwed up people!". Seriously.  This book had me thinking back to the bad boys from my freshman year of college....BUT lucky me, I am NOT Abby and I surely never dated my own version of Travis! Even though this book is coined as a "romance", this book does not depict what a healthy relationship it.  Period. So with that said, take this book with a grain of salt.
