I think this will be a winning year for good reads. The month has just begun and January has already kicked off with several books that I look forward to reading or listening to on audiobook. I can't wait to see what other books I discover as the year goes on. After you see what titles made my list, share yours. I'm always looking to add even more books to my never-ending TBR list!
Give a listen to this podcast episode, featuring my highly anticipated books of the first 3 months of 2018! I hope you enjoy my recommendations.
Looking Back, 2017 Year at a Glance
In 2017 I set out to read and listen to 52 books, I surpassed that and hit 61 books! 54 new to me titles + 9 books that I re-read for the #3Blogger1Series read-along, totaling 61 books! Unfortunately, for some reason Goodreads won't count books that were on previous yearly lists.
Take a look at these stats courtesy of Goodreads.com.
Set a Goal and Stick to it!
It's 2018 and it's time to set your vision for the next year. Whether it's setting a word or theme for the year in regards to professional, or personal growth, be sure to include setting a reading goal. Now is the time. Every year I set goals including reading goal. Back in my early blogging days, I'd sign up for several challenges and every year, my commitment to challenges dwindled down. I'm of the school of setting one goal for reading. That's the Goodreads Challenge. It's simple and straightforward. No need to keep track of tons of challenges and requirements, just read. Consider adding a audiobook to help you meet your goal. I'm an advocate of audiobooks, which are a part of any healthy literary diet!
We're all done with the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs (for now)! My fellow book bloggers and friends, Nicola at Alpha Heroes and Casey reviewer and editor at Heart Full of Ink, joined me on this awesome read-along adventure (special shout out and thank you to Emily at Sharing Links & Wisdom who was able join for the first half of the series).
We had a blast getting in depth with the characters and stories. We discussed the books round table style with three different perspectives. All of us added our own unique perspectives and personalities to the conversation. You'll want to hear us laugh and debate over this series because it's pretty entertaining. I think all of us are in agreement that this is a must read series for any urban fantasy/paranormal romance reader!! If you missed out on any of the fun, listen to ALL of the book discussions here..
While we have to say goodbye to the Mercy Thompson series, you don't have to say goodbye to the Mercyverse! Continue on with Alpha & Omega by Patricia Briggs. It's an amazing spin off series.
If you missed reading Mercy Thompson with us, don't worry, Casey, Nicola, and I are starting a NEW read-along January 1st! Don't miss out on reading the Realm Enforcers series with us.
