Hey friends.

I have a giveaway for you today! Viking/Penguin Books have graciously offered to one of my subscribers a hardcover copy of Wait for Signs, that goes on sale today, Oct. 21st. Not only will you win a copy of Wait for Signs, you'll also win a paperback copy of the novella Spirit of Steam. Because this giveaway is sponsored by Viking/Penguin, the giveaway is US only.

What's Longmire? It's a series of books adapted into a drama series on A&E from 2012-2014. Check out the TV show season 1 preview below. I haven't yet seen the show nor read the books, but I must say that in doing my research for this giveaway, it's got my attention! I'll be checking out Netflix ASAP to see what Longmire is all about!

From New York Times bestselling author Craig Johnson comes WAIT FOR SIGNS, twelve Longmire stories available for the first time in a single volume and featuring an introduction by Lou Diamond Phillips who plays Henry Standing Bear on Longmire.

Ten years ago, Craig Johnson wrote his first short story, the Hillerman Award-winning Old Indian Trick. This was one of the earliest appearances of the sheriff who would go on to star in Johnson’s bestselling, award-winning Walt Longmire novels and the hit TV drama series Longmire. Each Christmas Eve thereafter, Johnson has sent to friends a new short story featuring an episode in Walt’s life that doesn’t appear in the full-length novels.

WAIT FOR SIGNS collects those beloved short stories—and one entirely new story, Petunia, Bandit Queen of the Bighorns. With glimpses of Walt’s past from the incident in Ministerial Aide, when the sheriff is mistaken for a deity, to the hilarious Messenger, where the majority of the action takes place in a Port-A-Potty, to when Walt plays the Ghost of Christmas Past in A Christmas Carol, WAIT FOR SIGNS will be a welcomed addition to any Longmire collection and a wonderful way to introduce new readers to the sheriff’s world of Absaroka County, Wyoming.

This giveaway will be open for one week only. Good luck!

I have yet to read any of the books, but I have never missed an episode of the A&E series. Powerful cast, compelling storylines, and I'm certain the books are even more amazing.

Fingers crossed.

I have not read any of the books, or watched the series, but it seems very interesting!

Haven't read the books but we are fans of Longmire, love the series. The only gripe, they should make more the season ends to soon :D

I have seen a few shows and love them. Then it was off my dish network. I really liked them but haven't read the books. They should be a lot better then the movies so I'm anxious to read them.

I am going to see Craig Johnson at the New England Crime Bake next month and would love to read these books before I meet him.
