Hey friends,

Happy New Year's Eve!  Out with 2015 and in with 2016!  I hope you all have fun plans for this evening. Whether it's reading your favorite book with a glass or two of wine, going to a party, watching the ball drop on TV, or sleeping - it's time to leave 2015 in the rear view and have a great time looking forward to 2016! Set some awesome goals, including reading ones - and get moving!

While we are waiting for the New Year ball to drop, check out my best and worst reads of the year.  Please share with me some your favorite reads of 2015!  The books listed below weren't necessarily published this year; most are and some aren't, but instead these are the best and worst of the books that I've read in the past year.

2015 Best Reads

Listed in no particular order, they've all achieved my 5 bookmark rating and were immensely enjoyable.
  • Dead Heat (Alpha & Omega, #4), by Patricia Briggs (published 2015)
  • Golden Son (Red Rising Trilogy, #2), by Pierce Brown (published 2015)
  • Luckiest Girl Alive, by Jessica Knoll (published 2015)
  • Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4), by Marissa Meyer (published 2015)
  • You (You, #1), by Caroline Kepnes (published 2014)
  • Blood Kiss (Black Dagger Legacy, #1), by J.R. Ward (published 2015)

2015 Worst Reads

Listed in no particular order, they were all disappointing...On a positive note, there were only three 2 bookmark ratings. I also didn't have any DNF (did not finish) titles or any 1 bookmark ratings this year. Not bad.
  • The Collector, by Nora Roberts (published 2014)
  • Beauty's Kingdom (Sleeping Beauty #4), by A.N. Roquelaure, aka Anne Rice (published 2015)
  • The Cove (FBI Thriller, #1), by
    Coulter, Catherine (published 2003)

What about the 2015 reading challenges?

2015 Goodreads Challenge

I set out to read 62 books, I completed 52. Yep, WAY short. See the breakdown by checking out my Goodreads Year in Books 2015.

2015 Audiobook Challenge

I set out to listen to 40 audiobooks, I completed 28. That ranks me as a "Binge Listener" (20-30 audiobooks). While I didn't hit my goal, it's pretty good, Check out my Goodreads audiobook shelf!

I only set two challenges for myself this year. I'm glad that I didn't push for much more as I got a promotion at work this summer and my reading time drastically dropped...more work...less reading.  That saddens me because this is the first year (in five years) that I haven't met my overall reading goal, but I did my best.
Blood Kiss
All the Light We Cannot See
The Book of Life
The Cinderella Murder
Winter
Wicked
Shadow of Night
Menagerie
Pop Goes the Weasel
The Girl You Left Behind
After You
Eeny Meeny
The Bourbon Kings
Sideswiped
Hidden Bodies
The Girl on the Train
One Plus One
A Thousand Pieces of You
A Discovery of Witches
End of Days
How did you do with your 2015 book challenges?

Happy Reading,
~Tamara

I think 52 is a great number for the year - that's one a week! I had a goal of 52 myself, but I had the best year I've ever had in reading and hit 91 total reads!!!! Best of luck to you in 2016!

I have read a few of these, and some others are on my TBR. OMG, I need to read The Whip! Your review is what made me purchase it earlier this year, I just haven't had the time to read it. I'm taking control of my TBR pile starting tomorrow. I have to finish the Lunar Chronicles and of course start Golden Son also. I'm not touching any more of Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty. Just no. Awesome year in books!
