What's All Hallow's Read you ask?  Check it out.

I learned about this effort yesterday and I was inspired to participate. I've read a few horror books, but I'm not really big on that genre, so I don't know what's really good.  I decided to give away a Amazon gift card instead of taking the risk and giving away a luke warm...or even bad book!  Plus reading is more fun than eating all that high calorie candy! :-P  Spread the word, and share the love of reading!

With that said, in honor of All Hallow's Read, I'm giving away a an $10 Amazon gift card so that you can pick out the scary or (not so scary) book of your choice!

The Giveaway ends October 31st.

There are a few programs that the local library runs, and there are drop boxes set up around the bigger cities around here to put books in!

I think the more programs the better. I found that when teachers integrate them in their classroom they work even better. I know mine did.

I think we need more programs to generate the "fun" in reading.

I like that the local library has summer reading programs though it would be nice if they encourage reading year round. I also like that the local hospital gives you a couple board books when you have a baby so at least people have a start on reading to their children

I haven't read much horror lately, either, but I did just finish 'Brave New World'. The dystopic elements are pretty terrifying!

My son's school has a program where you can donate used books and they resell them.

I wish we had more book programs where I live. Sadly, my community does not offer anything of the sort.
