Synopsis: Passion knows no bounds...

Avery Ross is living a dream. After struggling all of her life to make ends meet, a chance encounter with a powerful, darkly handsome man has catapulted her into a dazzling new world of penthouse luxury, elegant parties, and a wild, consuming passion with her billionaire lover, Dominic Baine. Nothing is out of his reach in business or in pleasure, yet the only woman he wants is her. Nick sweeps her to sensual heights she has never dared explore, commanding her body the same way he commands her heart. Yet Avery knows the fantasy she’s living cannot last.

With dark secrets and a dangerous enemy haunting her past, Avery must find a way to trust Nick with the truth before it destroys everything they share. But Nick is harboring secrets of his own as well. And when they come to light, Avery will be forced to decide if the love she feels for Nick is strong enough to endure a betrayal she may never be able to forgive.

If you haven’t read book one, For 100 Days, no problem. You can start here. Lara Adrian knows how to include enough of the history without info dumping the reader so you’ll be able to jump right in easily. This trilogy has a lot of the genre familiar tropes. A not so rich woman with a murky past who falls into bed (and possibly love) with a sexy, rich, domineering and powerful man with his own set of emotional hang ups.  Lots of things going on in this book are typical to the genre tropes, and yet - going into it knowing what type of book to expect makes it more enjoyable.  It’s a fun, quick and easy listen.
As I expected, Avery continues to walk a fine line of submitting to Dominic’s dominance as well as maintain her own life and autonomy. Every time that I felt that Avery was too close to letting him run her, she steps up and makes it clear that she’s her own person.  During this book Avery is spending 100 nights pretty much making amends for lying to Dominic in the previous book.  So she’s doing what he wants, when he wants, etc. She’s essentially loving every moment of sexual submission as well as being spoiled by a billionaire boyfriend.  Yes, she’s got her secrets, but they seem minor in the grand scheme of things in my opinion. Just when I think that they will get their happily ending, the rug is pulled from under Avery.  At the end of this book Dominic screws up…badly!  I wasn’t surprised. I actually had guessed this exact situation early on in book one, but then when nothing happened, I thought I may have been wrong. But I wasn’t!! What happened? I’m not going to spoil it, but it’s a doozy.  I guess Dominic’s got some groveling to do!

The book is written from Avery’s POV, same as For 100 Days. Which makes it impossible to know what Dominic is thinking or understand his motives. Having a duel POV may have added another layer of depth that I would have loved to experience.

Narrator Summer Morton once again is able to pull off the mushy parts as well as the sexy parts with minimal cheese factor.  Morton handles those hot and steamy scenes with ease.  They are very spicy, so use those headphones people! She rocks at narrating the 100 series, so I expect to hear her voice again for the last installment. She’s got a pleasant voice and I felt immersed into the story. Summer’s voice and tone fit what I would imagine for Avery. She even spoke very well for Dominic’s character as well as the rest of the secondary characters. I didn’t feel a jarring that sometimes happens when a woman speaks for a man’s character. Great job Summer Morton. As expected, Tandor Audio presents solid audio quality and skillful editing.

I look forward to For 100 Reasons because I want to know what happens to Avery and Dominic after such huge betrayal. How hard will she make him work to get back in her good graces? Will Dominic be making excuse after excuse or groveling? I suspect this trilogy does have a HEA (happily ever after) as it is a romance, but how much will it take for them to reunite? I guarantee it’ll be on Avery’s terms. Well I hope so anyways.

If you're reading the 100 Series, comment and share your thoughts are on this steamy contemporary romance.
