SYNOPSIS:
A modern cupid story set in present-day Wisconsin combining the fantastical elements of Greek mythology with the contemporary drama of MTV's Teen Mom.

People don’t understand love. If they did, they’d get why dance prodigy Karma Clark just can’t say goodbye to her boyfriend, Danny. No matter what he says or does or how he hurts her, she can’t stay angry with him . . . and can’t stop loving him. But there’s a reason why Karma is helpless to break things off: she’s been shot with a love arrow.

Aaryn, son of Cupid, was supposed to shoot both Karma and Danny but found out too late that the other arrow in his pack was useless. And with that, Karma’s life changed forever. One pregnancy confirmed. One ballet scholarship lost. And dream after dream tossed to the wind.

A clueless Karma doesn’t know that her toxic relationship is Aaryn’s fault . . . but he’s going to get a chance to make things right. He’s here to convince Danny to man up and be there for Karma. But what if this god from Mount Olympus finds himself falling in love with a beautiful dancer from Wisconsin who can never love him in return?

Pages: 240 pages  | Audio Length: Approx 6.5 hours
Narrator: Allan Corduner
Genre: Young Adult, Historical Fiction

Synopsis: Kraków, 1939. A million marching soldiers and a thousand barking dogs. This is no place to grow up. Anna Łania is just seven years old when the Germans take her father, a linguistics professor, during their purge of intellectuals in Poland. She's alone.
And then Anna meets the Swallow Man. He is a mystery, strange and tall, a skilled deceiver with more than a little magic up his sleeve, and when the soldiers in the streets look at him, they see what he wants them to see.

The Swallow Man is not Anna's father--she knows that very well--but she also knows that, like her father, he's in danger of being taken, and like her father, he has a gift for languages: Polish, Russian, German, Yiddish, even Bird. When he summons a bright, beautiful swallow down to his hand to stop her from crying, Anna is entranced. She follows him into the wilderness.

Over the course of their travels together, Anna and the Swallow Man will dodge bombs, tame soldiers, and even, despite their better judgment, make a friend. But in a world gone mad with war, everything can prove dangerous. Even the Swallow Man.

To the citizens of Wolfe Creek, Aimee Styles is dead. What they don’t know is she’s alive...and a werewolf. After she was bitten two years ago, Aimee isolated herself away from the town, determined to keep them safe. But all it takes is an icy winter evening—and an incredibly virulent flu—to interrupt her self-imposed exile.

He's instantly and fiercely attracted to her, despite her secrets and the shadows in her near-black eyes. Jake's falling hard. He knows nothing about Aimee...or what she really is.

But something else lurks in Wolfe Creek's shadows. Something malevolent. Something that won't hesitate to rip apart their life and new love…

Immortal Hunter is book two in the EU series, but It can be read as a stand alone. We see some characters from the previous installments, but you don't necessarily have to read them in order. At least not at this point.

I like that each of the EU hunters have their own specialty. Which means each book will have it's own angle. That's what makes this series unique.  Damon from the Shadow Hunter novella is a vampire hunter and the leader of the Rochester Division. Jace from Twilight Hunter is the best werewolf hunter around.  David is a exorcists who can get rid of the baddest demons. The guys that have their own story coming are- Shane who specializes in all things occult, aka witches. Ash is a ghost medium that also hunts Poltergeists.Trent is a Shapeshifter hunter of the non werewolf types. The series will finish off with Damon's full story. Meet the EU men up close here.

Immortal Hunter focuses on David and Allsun. They have an amazing story.  This feels like the most believable true love story that I've read in a long time.  While the book is paranormal, the root of the relationship woes are embedded in the real world.  This is a story of second chances and demon killing of course!

I want to tell you about this book as spoiler free as I can, so forgive me it I'm a little vague. David and Allsun used to be together. They used to hunt demons together. Until Allsun wanted something that David was deathly afraid of.  A family and a change of career. So they split and went their own ways.  We soon find out that even more than the obvious lead to their separation. What is it? I won't tell. You've got to read the book to find out.

Bottom line, they never got over each other, even though it has been some years since they broke up.  In Twilight Hunter, Allsun was kidnapped and tortured because she's one of the last fae around...yep, she's half fairy. Of course David feels guilty for not being there to protect her and he intends to make up for that fact now.  Turns out David has a lot to weighing on him, as does Allsun.  I can empathize with Allsun and at times I felt down right bad for David. Talk about a no win situation.

Top that with a demon with a master plan on a killing spree. Aside from their own issues, David and Allsun are determined to hunt down this demon and send it back to hell before it possesses and kills more innocent families.

Check out my reviews of previous
EU installments!

Twilight Hunter Book 1 in the Execution Underground Series.

There are many components to this story and they all settle into place and everything comes together nicely.  I also appreciate that Ballenger was able to take such a serious relationship topics and seamlessly meld them into a paranormal fiction story. The book was well written and I really enjoyed the writing style.  It was very fast and entertaining read.

If you're a paranormal romance fan, this book is a must read!

Happy Reading,
Tamara

Phoenix Rising is one beautifully descriptive book. The authors very talented with world building. To read a story about a place that you're not familiar with and be able to visualize it almost like a movie is amazing. This is one book that I will not soon forget.  Love, adventure, betrayal, and family all revealed in a far away place, Africa.  This was the first story that I've read that is primarily set in Africa and I really enjoyed it.  I would place this book in the new adult arena. The main characters are juniors in college, so they're young but mature.

I said before that this series is one to watch, and I was right.  Another success from Kait Ballenger.  Twilight Hunter is is the first full length novel and the second story in The Execution Underground series,  The Execution Underground is all about ultra sexy men who are an elite group trained to take out rogue supernaturals.  Twilight Hunter is steamy, exciting, a little dark and fast paced. I read the book over the course of one day.  So that tells you what an easy read it is.
