Question: Have you broken up with a series? If so which one and why?

Answer: I have broken up with a two series recently.  The Anita Blake series, which I stopped at book 7. And the Beautiful Creatures / Caster Chronicles series, which I stopped at book 2.

I didn't officially post that I'd given up on them, but you should check out my last review of the books I'd last read in each series. They weren't very favorable.

With so many awesome books out there, why force yourself to keep reading a series that's just so-so? Nope, I won't do it! Not me!

What series have you broken up with?

Happy Reading,
~Tamara

I have not yet read book 2 of BC, it has so many negative reviews, so I guess I quit that one too:( PS: new follower on bloglovin!

I broke up with Anita Blake too. It began to feel so formulaic. Wild plot development with lots of dialogue, followed by sex, followed by more wild plot development, followed by sex.....

I tried Beautiful Creatures, but couldn't get past book one, so I guess I broke up with that series as well. Or maybe being "in love" with a series is what makes it a breakup...

So I'm actually a fan of the Beautiful Creatures series. I know, the second book was slow and draggy and Lena was a bitch and irritating. But just wait until the third book. The authors will claw your heart out and stomp on it, leaving you in a mess of tears and pain. And I had to wait for the fourth book. You have no idea of the agony. So I think you should skip to the end of the second book then read the third. Just advice from someone who's read the whole series. :D

I haven't read any of these, but I have Beautiful Creatures on my shelf. After hearing so many bad things I don't know if I will even bother reading them. I followed via linky
