Answer: Shelf Addiction is my baby, but it's not my first blog. I started casually blogging years ago because I wanted a place to write down my thoughts and vent on random things, which morphed into two different blogs, Blissful In Michigan and True Foodie At Heart. Shelf Addiction has been a long time coming. I have been reviewing for 15+ years. Literally, I used to review the books I read with a rating system and put them in this 3-ring binder. I was so tired of writing out my reviews I eventually stopped that. Following that, I reviewing books for an online book club for about a year or so. I wasn't really enjoying the books I was given, so I decided to move on from that and get back to reading what I loved. Shortly there after, I discovered goodreads.com. I started reviewing there and I've been doing so for several years now. The point where I decided to start a book blog was when my sister came up for a visit at the holidays last year. We were just hanging around and I was giving her book recommendations and she found out that I had read 53 books last year. For the next week, she continued to comment that I should start a book review blog. Simply put, in the end, I was like " Yea, why didn't I do that earlier?!". Thus here we are, 7 months into my book blog and I am enjoying every minute! Reading the books I want and having a fun time writing about it. | 18 & Over Book Blogger Follow is a weekly feature that begins on Fridays and runs through the weekend, hosted by Crystal from Reading Between the Wines. This is a Friday blog hop with the objective to find and visit other book blogs that share the same interest as you, namely books geared towards the 18 & over crowd, and make some new friends! Feel free to follow Shelf Addiction via NetworkedBlogs, Linky or Email subscription. If you are new to Shelf Addiction, please leave a comment below with how you're following and I will make sure to visit & follow your blog back. :-) Question: When going on vacay; do you pack your print books, ereader or both? Answer: I LOVE my kindle! My kindle is a gen 1 and I've had it for a little more than 2 years, but it's awesome and I still use it specifically for vacations. Daily I read using a Kindle App on my tablet, but my old Kindle has it's purpose. The E-ink is perfect for reading out by the pool or on a beach. Plus it's small and light weight. I never vacay without it! Not to mention, I've been known to lend it out to family for their vacations also. |

What a great story! I also started writing tons of reviews, but for me it was Amazon because I wanted to join the Vine program (I still haven't been invited even though I'm ranked at 2000!).

Oh I have mad love for GR too. That is really how I got into the world of books and blogging. I wasn't much of a reader till about 3 years ago when I found GR. Since then I devour books like crazy. I also started out in Blogger and moved to WP so I understand the need to shift. :o)

I think Goodreads has influenced a lot of us towards blogging. When you're reviewing that much it seems like "why not have a place of my own?"
