Dafne Keen as Laura was delightful to watch. A sullen character with lots of scary abilities. She's a fresh addition to the X-Men franchise and I'd like to see her in future installments. While her character didn't have much to say, I think that she did a great job acting on few words. I definitely felt her anger and pain about her current situation.
I found the references to the comic books pretty cool. The difference between how the world viewed the X-Men versus Wolverine's reality was startling opposite. Many saw them as heroes, enough to publish comics about them, yet Wolverine wanted nothing to do with that idea.
I have to give credit to the director, James Mangold, he pulled it off. The movie is edgy and has a fresh take on the franchise. Overall, I really enjoyed it. The level of violence sort of surprised me at first, but it was good regardless. Just don't take a young child...it's an adult film. Heed the "R" rating. Logan was a bit deeper and darker than previous X-Men movies that we're used to. I liked it and I recommend it. I'd rate Logan 4 out of 5 starts. Go see it and leave the kids at home. I also hear that there is a post credit scene that the press hasn't seen, so be sure to stick around for that.
