Synopsis: It's been six weeks since the angels of the apocalypse destroyed the world as we know it. Only pockets of humanity remain.
Savage street gangs rule the day while fear and superstition rule the night.
When angels fly away with a helpless girl, her seventeen-year-old sister Penryn will do anything to get her back....
This title has been on my TBR shelf for a long time. Now that I've finished it, I'm sad that it took me so long to read it. I decided to create a fantasy subgroup within my real world book club to help me along with getting through a few of my fantasy titles. There are a few ladies that are reading this trilogy along with me. Ee has created a unique take on Angels. We tend to think of Angels as good. We generally would think that in a post-apocalyptic situation that that they’d be here to help us and protect, etc. The Angels in this series are polar opposite of that. They are very dangerous and are the cause of current the state of the world. | |
I had one issue with the book. I didn't like that there was a lot crammed into the last 35-40% of the book. Instead of bread crumbs of information being dropped along the way from page one, the story was pretty ABC for the first 150 pages, then all of the sudden - BAM! Not that the beginning was slow or boring, it just didn’t have that wow factor until halfway in. The plot started to take off and all sorts of crazy things started happening. I really got into the book after that point. I expect and hope that World After starts at the pace that Angelfall ended on.
I enjoyed Angelfall and I look forward to starting World After very soon. Have you read Angelfall? If so, please share your thoughts on it.
Happy Reading,
~Tamara
