It's been a long while since I've given a 5 bookmark rating.  It's like I've had the longest excellent book dry spell ever.  That's over now!  This book was nearly perfect! It was unexpected and I was very happy with it.  This installment was a breeze to read and enjoyable.  I finished this book in two sittings, I really could have finished in one, but I really needed to go to bed.  I'd been giving the last several books in this series 4 bookmarks, but this one has earned 5!! It really stood out to me in many ways, it more like the earlier books but with extras.  This book centers around Chase and Tavia.  I really liked that Tavia appeared in the last book initially which that helped pull the story together.  We got to learn more about Chase's history and get to the root of his issues concerning his brother, father and even Tess.  After reading this book I really like Chase. He's gone along way and has proved himself.  Tavia is a good match for him and I really like her as well.  She has also has a lot of baggage, mainly that she had no clue who or what she was for the first 27 years of her life.  Everything she has known has been a lie and in my opinion, she deals with the discovery surprisingly very well and eases right into life as a Breed.

The story picked up exactly where the last left off, Lucan and a few men from the Order detonating their old underground compound.  They all make the move from Boston to somewhere in Maine.  I enjoyed seeing all of the other Order members and their wives throughout the book.  That's what I think I like most about these books, no matter how many characters are added to the core group, none are forgotten. In each book, it's seamlessly woven so that we remember all the important prices to the puzzle. Even with all the characters in the book, we don't lose focus of the primary love interest, Chase and Tavia.

In addition honorary Order members, and the Breedmates, I really liked that Mira, Kellen and Corrine's son, Nathan had presence as well. Knowing that there are more books to come, I realized some possible foreshadowing with these three.

According to Lara Adrian's website, there are to be two more books.  Despite knowing that, as soon as I read the last line of the book, I still felt like it was the conclusion of a series because many loose ends were tied up and things ended on a happy note. I guess it could be the conclusion of the Order as is. It's definitely a the end of one chapter and a beginning of another.

The Order finally killed off the villain of the last 9 books, Dragos, finally dead!  Dragos's hunters were wiped out too, which made it almost the perfect take down.  In the end, the Breed was outed to the world. The humans now know vampires exist and this is a game changer.  In addition to those two huge things, several of the mated couples had a child, one couple is expecting twins.
I realized that many new possibilities have surfaced for the next two books.  Ms.Adrian can go many different ways.  New possibly story lines include the exploration of the female Breeds that Dragos created, the discovery of another non human race which the Order suspects fathered the Breedmates, exploring the next generation of this forever growing family. New fighters, new breedmates for the younger Breed boys as they get older...tons of possible story lines to explore. If you've read along thus far, don't leave this book out, it's a must read!

Oh I love when a book makes me feel like that. I haven't read a book that hit my top rating in a while. I guess I'd have to start in the beginning for this series. Oh it is a long way to number 10.
