This past Tuesday night I picked up my box of books for WBN, which is on Tuesday, April 23rd! I'm excited about getting out there and talking to people and convincing them to read Playing for Pizza. I'm going to sit down and read it this weekend. It's less than 300 pages, so I think I can get through it quickly.
There were 18 Givers that picked up from the location same as me. It was interesting to talk to others and hear where they plan on giving out books and how they came to know about World Book night. Teachers, Librarians, Youth Literacy program personnel, all kind of people. It was so inspiring to see so many dedicated to literacy. I connected with other woman in my city and we'll be passing out books out together. Maybe next year, I can convince my book club ladies to participate! :-) If you don't know what WBN is, check it out here! It's a great program and this is their 2nd year. I hope to participate for many years to come. I'm looking forward to it!
